Red Deer

Standing proud and tall, the red deer is our largest deer.
With its massive antlers, it’s an unmistakeable icon of our wilder countryside.
Look for them on the hills of the uplands and in the mature woodlands of the Peak District.

FACT…
The males make bellowing roars in the autumn as they defend their patch and hareem.

HABITAT…
Woodland or deer parks.
