Madge Atkinson

Madge Atkinson (1885- 1970) was a dancing teacher.

Madge was the founder of the Natural Branch of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing.

In the 1920’s she lived at Enville House in Bowdon.

Madge was influenced by the work of Isadora Duncan.

She opened her School of Natural Movement in Manchester, later working with the Gaiety Theatre and Opera House.

Madge taught at the Royal Manchester School of Music and later moved to London.
